SEO Forum - Choosing a Domain Name - SEO Tips and Tricks

One of the main aspects when search engines like google choose where a web page will be ranked is keywords within the domain. So once you have researched keyword phrases for levels of competition and found some phrases the places you feel you may obtain good serp's for you should then try to obtain the domain name for that phrase. Easy you may be thinking but in reality it probably will not be available simply because someone has already thought about it and got it. Probably the most annoying thing is they probably will never even use it to create a website. Instead they'll just simply park the domain and fill it with Adwords advertisements and perhaps make a little bit of easy cash.

When you go to choose a domain name and it is not available then you could always look at one of the other top level internet domain names e.g. .net - .info - .co.uk etc. These days there always appears to be a new top level domain being introduced so maybe you could even pre-order it. Regrettably the more common the keyword phrase leads to the chance that all the top level domains happen to be taken so reducing your goals my be worth considering. Yes this tends to ultimately lead to less web site traffic nevertheless it can also mean that the website traffic one does acquire will be more targeted and much more likely to make money.
One way around this would be to try and put a dash (-) between words inside domain name and see if this is available. People tend not to like inputting these inside their url bar because they are fiddly but if you receive high positions on search engines like yahoo then this would really not matter. Besides if they like your web-site and intend to return they can always bookmark your web site instead. Another way could be to mix the keywords or better still include another word relevant to the phrase. One example can be if you've been attempting to promote iPhones and you simply wanted the domain iphonesforsale.com instead you could try something like monthlyiphonesforsale.com you will then possess 2 targeted keyphrases in the domain name, monthly iPhones and iPhones for sale.

Top Level Domain Naming

Say for example you're promoting mobile phones in the united kingdom you may want to produce a top level domain name like .co.uk as opposed to a .com. Although this may lead to your target market becoming localised rather than globalised. Yes it'll result in less website traffic yet the traffic is targeted as well as the bounce rate on your website would be considerably reduced. Besides it may stand a better chance of gaining increased positions in Google.co.uk which is where the traffic will come as that would be the standard Google search engine for that territory rather than Google.com. Try getting a domain name for yourself.

SEO Forum - My Website is Getting Spam - SEO Tips and Tricks

Within the last couple of weeks I have realized that my website is getting lots of spam. Not just a few spam comments in some places but lots of the damn stuff. In fact according to Google Analytics the web site seems to get more spam comments than actual visitors. I have not got around to activating my Askimet configurations yet to stop the spam remarks. Now having looked around a few black hat discussion boards I realized that this method is pretty popular. I figured I would perform a little test!

And so out comes my copy of Scrapebox and I harvested a handful of Wordpress blogs. Scrapebox incidentally can be great for finding blogs related to your niche if utilized in a white hat manner, which will be covered once i begin to put up some tools for Search engine marketing Reviews. Anyway I thought I would try a little experiment simply to find out if spamming does work or not. In all honesty anyone with blog site with any real website traffic would always decline them anyway. On the other hand many people don't know how to use Wordpress blogs very well too, me included.

After harvesting a few (very few) I let Scrapebox rip and off it went auto commenting on blogs (sorry incidentally if you were one of these). Within a hour I got a message from one of the people that I had spammed and he explained that 90% of the people who left comments gave a wrong email. That's simply because they don't want you to email them back and complain! I did check to see how many of these links did actually get okayed and it was very few indeed.
The reality is if you get a spam remark approved then it is likely to be by a website that generates very little interest and would definitely have very little or no page ranking. If the link did get approval then the chances are that the page has or is going to be spammed to death anyway. You would need to make a massive quantity of of these to make any real difference in search engine positions as well as risk Google putting your site in the dreaded 'Sandbox'. So having used your time harvesting URL's to find possible spamming victims, wasting additional time whist the spamming application does it's work and checking to find out if any of the comment stuck would it have been worth the amount of time in the first place.
There may be a few people who come on here and comment to state that this does work when it is implemented correctly but for the time wasted would not it be easier to look for a few webpage's with high page ranking and write a good comment related to their posts.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter how many backlinks you have if the ones you do have are from high quality - high page ranking and relevant websites because these count much more and so are more likely to attract referrals too.

SEO Forum - SEO tips - Search Engine Opitimisation Blog - How To Gain High Rankings

I just found an alternative website called SEO Forum Tips. This great site covers all that you should learn about Search Engine Optimisation. This SEO Forum discusses many key parts of SEO the first of which is keyword research and that is something it is best to research before you even create a website. There are various link-building strategies including blogging, bookmarking, reciprocal linking, building forum links, directories, video submission and social media linking. This SEO Forum covers all of them in great detail by providing you a secrets and techniques for best practice.

How important is on-page optimisation? The web site that you will be trying to optimise should have relevant content for the keywords that happen to be being targeted. There are many places where keywords may be used within the code of a website and this forum informs you what is the most significant.

Today web 2 . 0 plays a significant part is SEO. Websites like Facebook and Twitter can begin to play a significant part is SEO but not merely to help climb up the search engine results positioning. It is possible to create these and lots of other pages ( much like this article) that can also be found in search results and then send referrals towards your main website.

The SEO Forum also covers tools which you can use for SEO. There are various tools available for free or to buy that may help your web site to gain visitors. As an example; you can find tools that may look for blogs and forums which are related to the theme of your website where one can comment and leave a one way link returning to your web site. You can even find high page ranking webpage's and filter ones without page ranking at all. Imagine the length of time this might take if you searched for these sites through Google! Many people make use of this kind of tool to generate spam comments but when used in the correct manner (white hat) they can be very beneficial to your site.

Another discussion covered on this SEO forum is marketing. For those who have a brand new website and want visitors before your SEO strategy actually starts to take effect you might want to consider spending money on advertising which could be in the form of Pay Per Click. This may be a very expensive method to gain visitors but by targeting long tail keywords the sum you spend can be greatly reduced.

The SEO forum provides SEO Suggestions for you to consider when you are implementing your Search Engine Optimisation strategies. The web site has been created as part of a HE student's dissertation and is a continuing project so over the coming month more content will be added and optimised. Hopefully resulting in the website eventually gaining high search engine positions otherwise he will probably look really stupid! Why don't you follow this project to see how he gets on and if he really knows what he is discussing or if he will fall flat on his face.
